September 19th, The Geelong Club will open its doors to a distinguished collection of historic Australian artworks, bringing together works that offer a fascinating glimpse into the people and places that have shaped our region and our nation.
Among the works on display are pieces by S. T. Gill, the celebrated lithographer and artist whose vivid observations of nineteenth-century Australia captured the energy and sometimes humorous realities of life during the Gold Rush.
The exhibition is made possible free of charge to the public through the generosity of late Max Bell and the Geelong Club.
A prominent member of The Geelong Club and a passionate supporter of the arts and local community. Mr Bell’s long-standing connections with both Geelong Gallery and Geelong College reflect a deep appreciation for preserving and sharing the cultural heritage of Geelong.
This is a free exhibition through the generosity of The Geelong Club
